Crop Protection
Our Approach
Pearce Seeds brings together in its agronomists a wealth of practical farm experience and in-depth technical knowledge. Our goal is to support farmers and managers in every aspect of crop production from variety choice, sowing rates and cultivation strategy, through to crop protection and nutrition.
Through the use of varietal strengths, good soil and nutrient management and the strategic use of crop protection products we look to optimise plant health with the aim of maximising yield and financial return while minimising the cost of production. Emphasis in modern agronomy is shifting away from direct pest or disease control and is focusing more on improving the plants own health and resilience so that it is better placed to defend itself. Some of this can be bred directly into the varieties over time but can also be improved by the identification and management of nutritional weaknesses in the crop throughout the growing season.
