With an ever expanding trading area, the day to day challenge for the logistics team to provide an efficient service will always be met with a helpful and confident attitude. With customer service always in mind we will endeavour to get your order to you as quickly and efficiently as possible.
From the early days at Pearce Seeds when we had one van and a rigid lorry, the fleet has now expanded to a small but versatile fleet of seven vehicles ranging from small vans to 44 tonne arctics. During seasonal peaks other vehicles and drivers are hired, along with other hauliers with experience of agricultural deliveries to cope with the extra work load at these times.
Routes are scheduled daily taking into account customer requirements, load weights and vehicle size to optimize vehicle use and fuel economy. With the introduction of vehicle tracking we always know where our vehicles are and can always give you an estimated time for your delivery. Vehicle tracking also provides extra security for high value loads and HCDGs(High Consequence Dangerous Goods).
Over the years the role of the driver has changed to become a more professional role within the company and the transport industry in general. With the introduction of Drivers Qualification Cards all drivers have to carry out a minimum of 35 hours of training every five years in subjects relevant to the type of work they carry out, so there is now continuous professional development within the transport industry.
Pearce Seeds are currently delivering to all of the South West including the counties of Wiltshire, Dorset, Somerset, Devon Gloucestershire and Hampshire.
