Calf Health & Hygiene
Bio security is critical in all areas of dairy farming but nowhere more so than calf rearing.
Strict protocols should be used, with all housing and equipment being cleaned following each batch of calves. It is crucial that all calves are removed from the building during the cleaning and disinfection process due to the potential for transmission of disease. Every area should be thoroughly cleaned out and pressure washed, paying particular attention to housing and equipment. Once all areas are dry an approved disinfectant should be used, such as Kenocox which has high efficacy and activity on coccidia and cryptosporidia.
Kenocox
Kenocox is a broad spectrum disinfectant which is effective against excreted endoparasites (e.g. Eimeria spp, Cryposporidium parvum) & bacteria. Kenocox helps reduce infection pressure in animal houses and can be applied onto all kinds of surfaces. Kenocox is a unique formula (patent pending) without phenol, safe for users and animals.
Virocid
Virocid is a concentrated disinfectant with a synergistic composition of four active ingredients and is effective at very low dilution (0.25 - 0.50%) against ALL micro-organisms: bacteria, viruses, fungi and spores. It is hospital grade according to EPA registration in the USA. Virocid has a long residual action and can be applied in a variety of ways; spraying, fogging or foaming and can also be applied on a variety of surfaces, foot dips, vehicles and equipment.
Biogel
Biogel represents a new approach for efficient cleaning. The formulation of Biogel gives it extreme adhering power, increasing the contact time needed for the chemical action, resulting in an excellent clean. This saves time, water energy and labour. Biogel is applied through all foam lances and spraying equipment.
Biosafe
Biosafe is a universal foam cleaner that provides a strong, safe removal of well attached muck and dirt. It is highly effective on metals including aluminium, as well as glass. Biosafe is highly alkaline so care must be taken in avoiding corrosion in sensitive equipment or situations.
Tornax S
Tornax S has an extreme adhering power but in an acid form. It has a foaming formulation like Biogel, the longer contact time allows the chemical to work with reduced time, labour, energy and water.
